April 1st, 2018 the “Circular 2018/3 Outsourcing – banks and insurers”, published by FINMA last December 5th, will enter into force.

A quantitative analysis of the document unearths the following:

    i) this Circular is 5 pages shorter than the previous one and, more important,

    ii) there are only 4 pages of rules to be applied.

Does this mean more freedom in outsourcing functions?

To some extent the answer is Yes! But under certain conditions, whose full acknowledgement is not immediately evident and whose impact could be not insignificant.
