Time boundaries of our projects are usually not set by the Year Eve or the first day of the year. Nevertheless, the end of every year is by custom the time to take stock of the achievements.

Moreover, the Christmas period is also the best occasion to take a break from the daily work and devote time and thoughts to look at the achievements and prepare new programs.

In the year coming to an end, at BWS we fulfilled mandates in our traditional areas of expertise: i) advice for private banking operating model improvements, ii) Outsourcing arrangements assessment under FINMA Circular and European Banking Association Guidelines and iii) IT and Operating platform implementation for Swiss banks.

In addition we had the chance to complement such mandates with two very important projects in totally new areas of business: i) cooperating with an important management consulting company, the design of an Electronic Money Institution business and operating model, under Payment Service Directive 2 plus the drafting of the license application file to an EU Regulator and ii) the provision of services of Project Management Coordination in a technical implementation of a Merger between two international software companies, still in progress.

As Blue Wave Sourcing, we have been also involved, in the last quarter of the year, in two case studies together with Finnovaction, the first Italian Fintech Lab on Open Innovation to the service of Financial Institutions (www.finnovaction.com). Follow ups on these promising works are foreseen in the next months.

What about the forthcoming 2023? First, it will be the seventh year of presence in the arena of advisory services to Financial Institutions for Blue Wave Sourcing, a result that sounds remarkable, and second, looking at the project pipeline, it sounds promising as well!
