The bank, recently become an independent Bahamian licenced bank, after its sale to a new Shareholder, in full BPO with Avaloq Sourcing, was engaged in the upgrade of the core banking platform and, in parallel, in the replacement of its e-banking application, two big projects to be performed at the same time.
The goal was to run the two projects within a mandatory deadline, in a very short timeframe (5 months), due to the fact that the bank was totally absorbed by the separation from its Swiss Parent Company, then unable to dedicate resources to the upgrade.
We have been assigned with the responsibility to lead the project, and to bring specific competences and knowledge to a group of managers and employees that, for the first time, were measured with a complex and risky implementation, due to the tight timeline and a long list of new features to be adopted, after the separation, technical and functional, from its former Parent Company.
Together with the upgrade to the latest version of the core system, both the activation of new modules, foreseen in the perimeter of the new business strategy, and the migration to a completely new eBanking system were in scope.
The program governance consisted of planning, coordinating all project activities, managing the outsourcer and supervise the cutover; special attention has been given to the change management and to the training of the resources , the revision and update of all processes and the introduction of a full Project Management framework to allow the Bank to independently manage similar projects in the future.
The Bank today has a an up-to date system, new procedures to support the business and a new eBanking system to offer additional services to clients and External Asset Managers.
