Leveraging on our consolidated methodology and the experience accrued in similar projects led by BWS, we joined, in an EU based bank, a project team in charge of the development of its future Swiss subsidiary.
The first objective was a feasibility study to support the Group decision to proceed with the authorisation process for a Swiss bank license.
Following this phase, the team moved to the design of the business and operating model, with the goal to select the best options among the ones available, considering insourcing or outsourcing for most of the business and administrative areas.
As next step, the focus was on selecting the service provider for the IT and back-office services (SaaS and BPaaS).
As final step, before entering in the implementation project, the team was assigned with the responsibility of negotiating the best possible conditions with the selected service provider, both for the implementation project and for the services provision, at the bank opening.
During the feasibility study, we have contributed to the setup of the business case for the IT and Operations area, shaping the future operating model, and drafting the criteria to be used in the Outsourcing options evaluation.
We have also actively participated to the design of the Swiss product catalogue and to the drafting of all the business processes (a relevant component of the needed documentation to submit a bank license request), leveraging also on our templates and methodology.
Once completed the feasibility study, we have proposed and adapted to the bank needs our standard vendor evaluation model and processes, having a leading role in the organisation of the sessions with the shortlisted vendors, from the service offers collection until the final decision by the bank.
Afterwards, in preparation for the implementation project, foreseen in 2022, we have attended the contract negotiation with the selected vendor, where our knowledge of the Swiss marketplace allowed us to provide useful advice on services definition, including Service Levels, and on the pricing model set up.
At last, we were requested to review and enrich the Statement of Work that will govern the future IT platform implementation.
